This Notice explains how Sharon Leilani Sloane, trading as ScamShield AI ("we"), collects and uses personal data when you use the Service. We are the data controller of personal data we collect about you.

Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, encrypted password.
  • Content you submit: messages, screenshots, PDFs, links, voice recordings you scan.
  • Usage and device data: page views, scan history, device identifiers, IP address, browser metadata.
  • Support data: messages you send to support.
  • Family invites: if you invite a family member, their email address.

How we use it

  • To create and operate your account (contract).
  • To run AI analysis of submitted content and return results (contract).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents (legitimate interests).
  • To improve the product, with aggregated/anonymized data (legitimate interests).
  • To send transactional and (with consent where required) marketing email.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share data with

  • Service providers / sub-processors: hosting (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), AI model providers (Google, OpenAI), email and analytics tools.
  • Merchant of Record: Paddle, for sale of subscriptions, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service and comply with our legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You can delete your scans at any time from your account.

International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We respond to requests within 1 month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging.

Cookies

We use essential cookies needed to operate the Service (sign-in, session). We do not use marketing cookies by default.
